Carlton H. Hodges, CPA, Shareholder

Carlton received the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Armstrong State College in August, 1976 and the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Armstrong State College in June 1980. He began his public accounting career in July, 1980 when he was employed by SRLS. While at SRLS, Carlton performed all the traditional professional services of a CPA firm. In October, 1987, he was promoted to Tax Manager at the merger with Price Waterhouse.

Carlton’s primary emphasis is the firm’s tax compliance practice, including supervision over the preparation of business, individual, fiduciary and not for profit tax returns. Carlton’s responsibilities also include planning and supervision of audit and accounting engagements in the areas of construction contractors, service industry, not-for-profit, and government assistance recipients. Carlton is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Carlton serves on the board of directors and leadership council of the Georgia Society of CPAs. He also currently serves as chairman of the GSCPA Insurance Trust. He is a past Vice Chairman of the board of directors of the Armstrong Foundation of Georgia Southern University as well as the past chair of the finance committee. He is a former member and treasurer of the Savannah/Chatham County Metropolitan Planning Commission. He has previously served as a city councilman for the City of Pooler, GA.

Matthew E. Caines, CPA, Shareholder

Matthew received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting In May, 2013. Additionally, Matthew received the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Bethany Divinity College in May, 2008. He began his public accounting career in September, 2008, when he joined Caines, Hodges and Company, P.C.

Since joining the firm, Matthew performs all the traditional professional services of a CPA firm, planning, supervision and staffing of various engagements in the areas of not-for-profit, government assistance recipients, and city and county governments. Additionally, Matthew is extensively involved in the firm’s accounting practice in the preparation of payroll tax returns as well as the preparation of individual and business income tax returns. Matthew is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Donald T. Caines, CPA, Shareholder

Donald received the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Armstrong State College in June 1977. He began his public accounting career in May 1978 when he was employed by the Savannah CPA firm Spillane, Rhoads, Lebey & Sieg (SRLS).

While at SRLS, Donald performed all the traditional professional services of a CPA firm and in August 1984 was promoted to Audit Manager. In October 1987, SRLS merged with the international CPA firm Price Waterhouse. In July 1988, he was promoted to Senior Audit Manager. In November 1988, Donald joined with co-worker Carlton Hodges to establish Caines & Hodges, CPA’s.

Donald’s experience includes planning and supervision of various audit and accounting engagements in the areas of construction contractors, vehicle dealerships, service industry, not-for-profit, government assistance recipients, and city and county governments. Donald also is involved with the firm’s tax compliance practice as well as Quickbooks and Sage 50 accounting consulting. Donald is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Amanda S. Futrell, Shareholder

Amanda received the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration from South University, Savannah, Georgia, in June, 2004, and her Masters of Accounting from Keller Business School of Management of DeVry University in August, 2011. She began her public accounting career in 2003.

Amanda joined Caines Hodges in 2005. Since joining the firm, Amanda has performed all the traditional professional services of a CPA firm, including planning, supervision and staffing of various engagements in the areas of not-for-profits and government assistance recipients.

Additionally, Amanda is extensively involved in the firm’s accounting practice in the preparation of payroll tax returns as well as the preparation of individual and business income tax returns Amanda is an associate member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, Amanda is a Quickbooks Pro Advisor.

Tatiana C. McHugh

Tatiana received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pensacola Christian College, Pensacola, Florida, in December 2015, and her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Pensacola Christian College in May 2017.

Tatiana began her public accounting career in July 2018, when she joined Caines, Hodges and Company, P.C. Tatiana is involved in the firm’s accounting practice in the areas of auditing, income tax preparation, accounting, and bookkeeping.

Leslie M. Calvert

Leslie received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia Southern University in May 2019.   Her prior professional experience is in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and income tax preparation.  She began her public accounting career in May 2019 when she joined the firm. Leslie is involved in the firm’s accounting practice in the areas of auditing, income tax preparation, accounting, and bookkeeping.

Juana V. Mason

Juana received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia Southern University in December 2020.   Her prior professional experience is in human resource, payroll processing, and tax preparation.  She began her public accounting career in January 2021 when she joined the firm. Juana is involved in the firm’s accounting practice in the areas of auditing, income tax preparation, accounting, and bookkeeping.

Donna Hart

Donna is the firm’s administrative assistant.  She has been with the firm since 2001.  Donna works in our accounting and payroll services. She is responsible for the monthly accounts payable and payroll services rendered to our clients. She is proficient with Quickbooks and Sage 50 software.
